December Scrapbooking Tip
Local Scrapbook Stores and Consultants
During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we would like to encourage you to think small and local when shopping. Shop at your local scrapbook store, place an order with your favorite
direct sales consultant, register for a Crops Plus crop (we also do gift certificates - complete with a gift to put under the tree! See below) Let's work together to keep these small businesses thriving!

New Venue for 2013!
Exciting new changes are in store!
We have shared this information several times, so please forgive the repetitiveness, but it's important to keep these great new features of our crops at the forefront of everyone's mind! Starting with our February crop, our new hotel will be the Hyatt Dulles, located right at the intersection where the Dulles Toll Road and Route 28 meet. We chose to stay in the Dulles area as that seems to work well for our croppers and helps to keep our prices as low as possible. The Hyatt is an almost new facility, built in 2009, that offers many new and luxurious amenities, allowing us to truly give you the premiere cropping experience! Crops Plus is stepping it up! Some of the many benefits of the new location include:
- Ergonomic "18 hour" chairs
- Extended crop times. Crops now end at 4pm on Sundays.
- More food - additional Sunday snack
- Spacious and clean facility washroom
- Dedicated private classroom
- Brewed Starbucks served at meals and snacks
- Vendors all in one room, just across the hall from the crop room
- Massage therapist on the same floor in private room
- Executive suite hotel rooms with sitting areas and pull out sofas for just $89/night
- Ability to book the rooms online through links that will be easily accessible on our website
- Truly gourmet meals with great variety that can be catered to specific needs
- Continued Valet Service
- Temperature controlled environment with purified air and fresh oxygen circulation
- A lovely bar area
- Gorgeous modern facility
- Lap pool with an updated and large gym
- Electricity wired to each table grouping
- Free internet in ballroom and hotel rooms
- Crop room doesn't close (as long as someone still wants to crop!)
- 5 catered buffet meals and 5 snack breaks as well as unlimited soda, water and tea available all day
We are confident that you will love the new facility as much as we do. We've already had several croppers in to look at the space and it has met with their seals of approval. We're very excited about these new changes and hope that you will be able to join us in 2013! |

November Crop a Huge Success
Thank you to all who attended!
It was our final crop for 2012 and our last crop at the Holiday Inn - Dulles. And we went out with a bang! The sold-out event was so much fun! We had lot of gifts - giving away more than $1,500 in prizes - ate a little too much, got a lot (or not a lot) done and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
That all said, we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon at our new digs - the Hyatt Dulles! |
December 8th Craft Show
Come shop and support a good cause!
In early October, the local scrapbooking community lost a good friend to cancer. Linda Jo Boan was an avid scrapbooker, cross-stitcher, crocheter, knitter, and more! A craft sale will be held in her honor on December 8th. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to HART, a local no-kill shelter for cats & dogs, in memory of Linda Jo. The sale will not only be of Linda's massive, and largely brand-new unopened craft stash, but of other people's donations as well. February Crop Selling Out!

We have been so blessed to have such amazing croppers at our events and in February we will have quite a group of new attendees! We are so glad to host everyone. February will be the perfect time to come visit us for the first time or haven't been in a while as it will be our first event in the new hotel, the Hyatt Dulles! April Crop Already Filling Up!

So while registration is not yet open to the public, our April 2013 crop is already 1/2 full! We are going to be opening up registration for the April 2013 crop on December 17, 2012 first thing in the morning. Be ready! Can't wait AND want a discount? 2012 "Passport" Winner
A Free Crop! Congratulations!
 At the beginning of every year, at our first event, we give away "Passports" to those that are signed up for (or think they will attend) all four of our crops that year. Inside the book are the names of each of our vendors for each crop. All the attendees need to do is have each vendor sign the book at every crop. At the end of the year, the completed books are handed in and verified and we do a drawing for a free crop! This year's winner was Joy Suzuki! She won a free crop of her choosing in 2013. Joy has attended every Crops Plus crop for 2 years! We are lucky to have her as a scrapbooking friend and are happy for her on her big win!

500 Facebook Fans Winner
A Free Crop! Congratulations!
We hit a big milestone this past month on our Facebook page - 500 fans! This is really a tremendous moment for us. Since I started doing this 2 years ago, I have been so grateful for the support and friendship that has built up along the way. Scrapbooking creates a great community and Crops Plus is so blessed to be a part of it.
