We say "Farewell" to Pastor Stephanie Quick Espinoza and Pastor Jorge Espinoza Prez

It is with a mixture of gratitude and sadness that we announce that Pastor Stephanie Quick Espinoza (ELCA Director for Evangelical Mission) and Pastor Jorge Espinoza Perez (Mission Developer - Jesus of Nazareth Lutheran, Aurora CO) will be leaving the Rocky Mountain Synod as they move to Minnesota to be closer to family.

Pastor Jorge's final Sunday will be June 7. The end date for Pastor Stephanie's service is yet to be determined. We give thanks to God for the talents, insight, faithfulness and energy they have brought to our life together and we pray God's blessings upon them as the begin this new chapter.

For the moment, Pastor Stephanie will continue to address all matters related to the work of the Director of Evangelical Mission, including Mission Starts and Comprehensive Ministry Reviews. Matters related to Jesus of Nazareth congregation may be directed to the Office of the Bishop.

OUR LIFE TOGETHER
Download an article and study guide about the Four Winds American Indian Council and the gift of "holy space" given from RMS

An article in the recent Lutheran magazine shares the story of a long-closed church south of downtown Denver that was owned by the Rocky Mountain Synod. This .pdf begins with a three-page study guide, and is followed by a reprint of the article. You are invited and encouraged to download the guide and article, and to use it as the focus of an adult forum or study group in your congregation. Download the study guide and article reprint.

ELCA YOUTH GATHERING

Youth will participate in revitalizing Detroit at youth gathering

Living on a block with an abandoned home or two is common for Detroiters, and the city has precious few resources for dealing with such a widespread problem. Neighborhood blight is a health and safety risk to residents, attracts crime, and depresses property values.

This summer, during the 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering, youth will participate in Detroit's neighborhood revitalization efforts by boarding up abandoned properties, making neighborhoods safer and healthier for the residents who remain.

While youth will provide the labor, we are in desperate need of supplies. If you know of a building supply company that could donate 4 X 8 OSB boards, please contact Lisa.Jeffrey@elca.org. You can also donate toward the purchase of supplies by going to www.elca.org/Gathering
