The service will take place Thursday, April 16, at 1 p.m. Rostered leaders are invited to vest. The color of the day is white. Bishop Gonia will be preaching, and Bishop Hayashi of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah will be presiding. All are welcome.

James R. Crumley Jr., bishop of the former Lutheran Church in America, dies
The Rev. James Robert Crumley Jr., bishop of the former Lutheran Church in America, died April 7 of complications from a fall. He was 90. The Lutheran Church in America is a predecessor church body of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). "To hear him tell the story of his life, the Rev. Dr. James R. Crumley was convinced that God always was full of gracious surprises," ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton said in a tribute to Crumley. See more.

FAITH COMMUNITY NURSING COURSE

Faith Community Nurse Foundations Course
The Faith Community Nurse Foundations Course will be offered at Glen Eyrie, in the back yard of the Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a designated National Natural Landmark located at the base of Pikes Peak, the mountain that inspired "America the Beautiful". This beautiful retreat setting will be inspirational. The course will provide trained FCN faculty, whole health experience and training with the new 2015 FCN curriculum.
Wednesday August 19 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, August 23rd at 3 p.m., ending with a commissioning service.

ELCA WORSHIP JUBILEE

The 2015 ELCA Worship Jubilee will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, July 19-23. There are scholarships available for rostered leaders, congregational musicians and congregation worship leaders. The amount of the scholarship will vary depending upon the number of persons who apply. You can learn more about the Jubilee by clicking here. Please include information on the role you play in worship leadership, why you would like to attend the Jubilee, and the best phone number at which you can be reached.

During Synod Assembly, youth from around Salt Lake City will be gathering at the Sheraton Hotel for an ecumenical gathering involving a Life Together Art Project and a putting together Grace Socks packages for youth who are homeless . They are requesting congregations bring the following items (or monetary contributions) to Assembly:

SKY RANCH CAMP

SKY RANCH SHOWER HOUSE DECOMMISSIONING SERVICE
After 38 years of faithful service, the Shower house at Sky Ranch is being replaced! Come join us for a brief decommissioning service at 2:00 this Sunday April 19 at Sky Ranch. Thunderpup Construction will begin formal demolition on Monday, but Sunday is our chance to say good-bye to this relic. We will celebrate with light snacks and for a small donation individuals can help give the current building a "love tap" (sledge hammer and goggles provided). Help make room for the new shower house coming this summer as part of Sky Ranch's 50th Anniversary appeal.

Youth Go!
Youth Go! is a two-week leadership training program for High School youth. Campers return to their congregations empowered to lead and serve from their week that includes: community building through high and low ropes, a two night backpack trip providing time for prayer and reflection, in depth Bible study and worship planning, visiting some of the program specialists, service projects at Harvest Farm (run by the Denver Rescue Mission helping men with addiction), helping to lead worship and a 24-hour silent retreat.

Staff In Training
It's not a job. It is an attitude! For those who wonder what it would be like to work at Sky Ranch, this newly restructured program is designed to give you the knowledge and skills needed to be on summer staff. Everyone interested in being a staff in training will participate in a week of training on June 14-19. Everyone who completes this week of training is then eligible to volunteer up to three additional weeks throughout the summer, shadowing and working beside resource staff and counselors, as needed based upon the programs being offered.

Rainbow Trail's Bridging Borders program is offering an "Open Registration" trip to Mexico for the week of July 5-11, 2015. This week of house building and community will leave your senior high youth with a renewed sense of their faith and a restored excitement for service. This is a great opportunity for those who will not be going to Detroit for the Youth Gathering. The Rocky Mountain Synod is sponsoring a Region 2 Interim Training series, consisting of three phases. Phase One takes place June 1-5, 2015, followed by Phase Two which is case study experiences. Phase Three will be January 18-22, 2016. Phase One and Three will take place at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cherry Hills Village, CO. This training is specifically for those who will be serving an Intentional Interim during the Transition Time in a congregation, but the skills and insights are also valuable for every congregation leader. Wartburg College organist present concert April 24 in Denver
Dr. Karen Black will be featured in concert at Saint John's Cathedral in Denver, Colorado, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. The cathedral is located at 1350 Washington St. This concert will include works by J. S. Bach, Bernhard Bach, Mendelssohn, Hakim, Conte and Vierne.
Black is the Rudi Inselmann Endowed Professor of Organ at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa. She teaches organ and church music; music theory and aural skills; serves as organist for weekday chapel and Sunday worship services; and conducts the St. Elizabeth Chorale.
