ELCA begins using new "forms" system after June 30 (no more Formatta!)
The "Go-Live Date" for new forms for Candidacy and Call Process within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is June 30, 2014. These new forms will be web-based, allowing them to interface more seamlessly with all computers, Web browsers, and small tablets.
Those currently in the process of completing a
Rostered Leader Profile (RLP) or updating one that is in the system, can continue to use the Formatta form until
June 23, 2014. After that date, Formatta will no longer be able to submit your form! This information also applies to congregations that are in the process of completing a
Ministry Site Profile (MSP). These deadlines will give the ELCA a week to complete the transition from Formatta and to move the data from all Formatta forms in the mobility database to new forms. After June 30 we encourage rostered leaders and congregations to access the new form and verify that it reads correctly.
As you review your new forms, or if you experience any difficulty with them, please feel free to discuss your questions or concerns with Janice Ladd-Horkey in the RMS Office of the Bishop. She can answer any questions that you might have about these changes and how they will affect you.
Visit www.elca.org/call for any updates or new information. Each rostered leader received an email letter with login credentials last week.
SHINE GOD'S FUTURE
Campaign reaches $60,000 goal!
Gifts for the "Shine God's Future" campaign for the Office of the Bishop and Lutheran Center have reached $60,000 thanks to a generous $500 gift received this week to put us over the top! We are humbly grateful for the outpouring of gifts given by congregations and individuals.
RMS LUTHERAN CENTER
"Growing Home" Ministry Opportunity
consider having your congregation volunteer for one day in August to help homeless families The "Office of the Bishop" is in one building at the site of the new RMS Lutheran Center. An adjacent church building includes a basement which for many years has been used as a site for a transitional housing ministry in Adams County called "Growing Home." Similar to Family Promise (Interfaith Hospitality Network), homeless families are welcomed for a week on a rotating schedule at various church locations. This Lutheran Center site has been one such location for many years. Cross of Christ, Broomfield, CO, has taken the lead to staff this ministry several weeks a year, and they are inviting congregations to sign up to volunteer for ONE DAY in August to provide a meal and overnight volunteer hosts. If your congregation would like to explore a one-night ministry opportunity, please send an email to Erin Power at epower@rmselca.org You will accompanied well by Cross of Christ volunteers so you know what you need to do to share in this meaningful outreach.

Again this year Mount of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vail, Colorado will sponsor a pilgrimage hike climbing Notch Mountain (13,237), in order to view the Mount of the Holy Cross (14,005).
