Dems for Equality Takes to the Red Carpet

Join Us for our Oscar Viewing Party

Join the Club for an Oscar viewing party at the home of Denice Feldhaus and Susan Guinn. It's a great opportunity to talk about the movies, clothes, speeches and lack of diversity amongst Academy voters while enjoying food and drink with your Club friends. This year's nominees should provide a good deal of fodder for all.

Please bring a dish to share (finger foods, salads and desserts preferred) and your best knowledge of the nominees. While it's an honor just to be nominated, there will be prizes for picking the winners.

February 22, 2015     3:30 - 7:00 PM

Home of Susan Guinn, Denice Feldhaus and family

2828 Hartford Court

San Diego  CA 92117

Its a beautiful, big home but it can't hold everyone so make sure your spot is assured by telling us how many are coming and what you're bringing HERE

Is it Time to Re-Up?

The Club depends on membership dues to keep the lights on and promote our candidates and issues to the community. A large number of community members depend on our Voters Guide to help them make an intelligent choice when marking their ballots so your membership renewal is critical to ensure those Guides get into those hands. If your membership has lapsed or if you know you're membership is soon to expire, please re-up now. You might also consider upgrading your membership to a higher level.

You can find out more about the Club's membership levels and benefits online HERE. You can also renew with a credit card there.  If you would prefer to use a check, send the check, made out to Democrats for Equality to:

This Is Your Wonderful Life

Jonathan Dunn-Rankin

1930 - 2014

Like the man himself, Jonathan Dunn-Rankin's memorial was a class act.

Through art, pictures and video, friends and family led other family and friends through the various aspects of Jonathan's long and eventful life. As befits the consummate performer he was, the program was more of a multi-act play than a memorial with speakers reminding the large audience of Jonathan's young/family life, his broadcast news work, political life (ably presented by our own Mel Merrill), art collecting/world travel, AFTRA organizing and stage career.

Very few in the audience (or amongst the speakers) had a handle on all of Jonathan's interests or the lives he touched and as with all good theater, everyone left the performance with a better appreciation of a life well and fully lived.

Jonathan Dunn-Rankin was an integral part of the growth and well-being of San Diego Democrats for Equality. It was enlightening to see and hear about all the other people and groups he also touched. We'll miss you Jonathan, but suspect you'd be pleased with how you've improved the lives of so many others. It was indeed a wonderful life.
