There Is A Plot Afoot

Emboldened by their recent successes, the Republicans are trying to oust Todd Gloria as Council President in next week's vote.  Todd is in their sights for his strong support of raising the minimum wage for the poorest of working San Diegans. As a gay man and person of color, Todd reflects our communities and he is the best person to lead the Council for the next year.

At the link below you will find a petition.  Please sign it and share it to show how much grassroots support Todd has.  It is our city and our future, we can't let them take it away from us.

Is it Time to Re-Up?

The Club depends on membership dues to keep the lights on and promote our candidates and issues to the community. A large number of community members depend on our Voters Guide to help them make an intelligent choice when marking their ballots so your membership renewal is critical to ensure those Guides get into those hands. If your membership has lapsed or if you know you're membership is soon to expire, please re-up now. You might also consider upgrading your membership to a higher level.

You can find out more about the Club's membership levels and benefits online HERE. You can also renew with a credit card there.  If you would prefer to use a check, send the check, made out to Democrats for Equality to:

Winning Marriage

The San Diego LGBT Community Center, Freedom to Marry, and Equality California invite the community to a special book launch event for Marc Solomon's "Winning Marriage."

In the book, Solomon shares with readers the strategy-setting and decision making tables in the campaign to win and protect the freedom to marry. He reveals the inner-workings of the advocacy movement that has championed and protected advances won in legislative, legal and electoral battles over the decade since the landmark Massachusetts ruling that gave same-sex couples the right to marry for the first time.

The event will include a presentation by Solomon, appetizers, and refreshments.

Friday, December 5th, (6 - 8PM at the Center.
