Raise a Toast to Our New Speaker

Instead of the Club's usual 4th Thursday meeting, Democrats for Equality will meet at Bamboo Lounge on Saturday, May 24th

Within days, Assembly Member Toni Atkins will formally take over the gavel as Speaker of the California State Assembly. The first San Diego homecoming event on her schedule following her assumption of Speakership duties is San Diego Democrats for Equality's reception on May 24th.

Join us for a toast to Our Speaker at Bamboo Lounge, 1475 University Avenue in Hillcrest, from 6 - 8 PM.  The event is free but we expect it to reach capacity quickly so, make sure you're on the list with an RSVP as soon as possible.

RSVP via email HERE, or call (619) 709-0675

Dems for Equality Volunteer Day for Priority Campaigns

The Club has designated four campaigns as priorities for the June 3rd Primary election. Last Saturday, we walked precincts in City Council District 6 for Carol Kim.  Please sign-up to phonebank for two more of our priority campaigns this week:

Sarah Boot for San Diego City Council District 2

Sarah has requested our help to staff the phone banks for her campaign on Wednesday, May 7th from 5PM on. Let us know you'd like to join the Dems for Equality team HERE and we'll see you at:

3940 Hancock Street,

San Diego, CA. 92110 Suite 100.

Susan Guinn for Assessor/Recorder/Clerk

We will be phone banking for Susan on Thursday, May 8th from 6:30 - 9:00 PM.

The location will be at the County Democratic Party headquarters at:

8340 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, Suite 105

San Diego, CA 92111

Let us know you're available HERE

We remember our current County Assessor/Clerk's attempt to halt marriage equality in San Diego last summer - and Sarah Boot's election is essential to maintain the Democratic super-majority on the City Council, so both of these campaigns are critical to our community.  Please commit a few hours on Wednesday and Thursday to getting out the vote for both of these fine candidates this week.
