Club Endorses David Alvarez for Mayor
In case you missed last night's meeting, the club voted to endorse David Alvarez in the November 19 special election for Mayor of San Diego. On the first ballot, Alvarez received 59% of the vote (60% required for endorsement), with 36% for Nathan Fletcher. On the second ballot, the vote was 66% for Alvarez and 34% for Fletcher.

Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins and San Diego City Councilmember David Alvarez have joined the Democrats for Equality AIDS Walk Team. Because we've been busy with the Freedom Awards and the Mayoral Candidate Forum, we haven't had time to focus on securing AIDS Walk donations, so we're making a final, last minute plea so we can reach our goal of $1000.
This year's event, which begins and ends in Balboa Park will be on Sunday morning, September 29, 2013, is the largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser and the biggest non-governmental financial provider for HIV/AIDS in San Diego County.
