at the Freedom Awards on
Sunday, September 22

John Pérez will be attending the Freedom Awards to accept the A. Brad Truax Human Rights Award, the club's highest honor. Pérez made history in 2010 when he became Speaker of the California State Assembly, the first openly gay person to hold such a position in the nation.
