After what seems like a very long winter, many of us are enjoying the beautiful weather and the feeling of rejuvenation that spring can bring with it. But for some people the thawing of the ground and the growth of new plant life can mean allergies and itchy, watery, sore eyes.

VISION PROBLEMS CONTRIBUTE TO SENIOR'S RISK FOR FALLING

If you or a relative suffer from frequent falls, a visit to the optometrist would be a great idea.
While there are other reasons (besides vision) for falling frequently, such as poor mobility or balance, consider the following measures of vision.
Visual acuity - measures fine detail vision
Contrast sensitivity - measures the ability to see an edge under conditions of reduced contrast. For example, a dark elevated step on a slightly darker background.
Depth perception - measures the ability to tell the physical location of objects or obstacles relative to others.

GREAT TURNOUT FOR OUR SPRING EYE WEAR EVENT

Thanks to everyone who came out on Tuesday, April 8 to Cochrane for our wine and cheese event featuring Orgreen and Prodesign eye wear. Hundreds of the latest collections were displayed, lots of people were set up with some great new eye wear, and by all accounts a great time was had by all. We will definitely be doing this again in the future so stay tuned!
