Baby Photos Can Help Detect Eye Problems Early
|
Now that smartphones and digital cameras are in almost everyone's pockets, the number of photos taken every day has increased exponentially since the days when we had to take our film to the photo shop. New Contact Lens Combines Best of Both Worlds
|
With the new materials that have come out in recent years, we have been able to fit a greater percentage of our patients in contact lenses successfully. Probably the two greatest advancements have been the development of "Silicone Hydrogel", a new material that greatly increases the oxygen flow to the eye, and the advent of daily disposables which allow our patients to wear a fresh pair daily. But there have been very few choices that combine the convenience of a daily disposable with the health benefits and comfort of a Silicone Hydrogel.
Until now. The CIBA Dailies Total One is the product of more than a decade of contact lens development. The core of the lens is made of highly breathable Silicone Hydrogel core that transitions to a surface gel that is almost 100% water. This makes this contact lens extremely comfortable in dry environments, very breathable for long days wearing the lens, and extremely healthy for the eyes due to the daily disposability.
Mountain View Optometry was one of the first practices to offer this new lens. Book an appointment if you are interested in learning about this new technology and if you can benefit from being fit in this new material.
