Then, overnight, you can't comfortably read the fine print in the newspaper or the menu at the restaurant, no matter how far away you hold it. It's official - an age-related condition called " presbyopia" is setting in.
It doesn't actually happen overnight. Presbyopia - a change in the eye's ability to focus at close range - happens gradually over time.

What truly makes a great optometrist? I am constantly reflecting on this question and pushing myself to provide the best care I know I am capable of. Sure, going to school and studying hard is monumental, but what about the skills that are not taught in optometry school. I am still early in my practicing career and to date I have found that not only do I need to keep up on current treatments and research but I also need to take the time to make sure I can answer the question; what truly makes a great optometrist? |

Seeing Spots Lately? Could be "Floaters"
|
Ever wonder why you sometimes see dark spots or lines in your vision? These are called "floaters" and most are harmless. For some, the appearance of these tiny flecks may just be a nuisance, but for others they may signify a more serious problem.
So what are they? Floaters may result from changes in the vitreous (gel inside your eye) with age, or may actually be present almost since birth.

Join us this weekend at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park

 The large expanse of land along the Bow River that separates our two office locations is one of Alberta's newest parks - the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. If you haven't had a chance to explore this 1300 hectares of foothills parkland with awesome river views, this weekend's your chance!
Join us for the 2nd Annual Run at the Ranch happening this Sunday, August 25th. Register here and choose from a kids run, 5K Fun Run and Walk, 10K or half-marathon. Your participation helps support the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation and upkeep of the park's facilities. Last year the Mountain View crew came out and really enjoyed the day - watch for us again this year.
