Experienced project manager John Gleason of Northfield, Vt., has been named to the same role at WallGoldfinger.
A native of Connecticut, John earned his bachelor's degree in resource development from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I., and later did continuing education in management at Bryant College in North Smithfield, R.I.
John worked in project management roles at Moliterno Stone in Lincoln, R.I., for six years and New World Power Boston in Boston, Mass., for five years before a contract administration position at Northern Power in Waitsfield brought him to Vermont.
After six years with Northern Power, he moved on to a similar position at Johnson Controls in Williston. He then worked for 15 years as a field project manager at E.F. Wall and Associates, Inc., in Barre - a position that had him traveling throughout Vermont.
WallGoldfinger was previously located in Northfield for decades. As a local resident, "I've been admiring WallGoldfinger for the last 12 years," said John, noting he admired the management style and custom corporate furniture the company constructed.
Mostly he wondered just how WallGoldfinger's furniture was made.
Curious and interested by nature, this husband and father of two now grown children is a pilot, trainer evaluator for ski patrollers, certified open water diver, bicyclist, beekeeper, sailor, camper, fisherman and strip kayak builder.
A year ago he added woodworker to the list when, ready for a change and excited to learn a new skill, he left his construction management position to join WallGoldfinger.
John spent the last year working alongside of WallGoldfinger's skilled woodworking team in our state-of-the-art Randolph factory.
When long-time Project Manager Richard Harrington retired, John applied for and was awarded the position last month, returning to his project management roots but with the foundation of now knowing how WallGoldfinger's furniture is made.
In the weeks since John has made the transition, he's leapt into learning the role, computer systems and more. "I love speaking to architects and clients," said John, who works collaboratively with architects, dealers and clients during production, delivery, installation and warranty to ensure their needs are met.
"John is experienced in project management, enthusiastic and personable. Add in his experience in our factory and he is the right fit for ensuring our clients are heard, understand our processes and receive the best service we can provide," said John Wall, WallGoldfinger CEO.
If you had worked with Richard Harrington in the past, John is your new contact. You can reach him at 802.431.0126 or johng@wallgoldfinger.com.
