Sleek Summit steals the show

We approached First LOOK last month with tremendous excitement for our new product lines in the works, including two conference table designs and a new credenza design.

We created draft marketing materials and small models of our new tables with the goal of getting feedback on the designs before we start production in the fall.

For those not familiar, First LOOK is an annual event of the New York Design Center where companies like WallGoldfinger get to share new products.

We were so thrilled with the turnout and the positive interactions we enjoyed. No doubt there was enthusiasm for the lines and other new materials we put out, but what stole
the show was the new Summit we put in the showroom for First LOOK. We can't really blame designers. When put beside small white table models, a brand new Summit with a black limba top, brushed stainless steel applied metal edges and dark walnut base was absolutely galvanizing.

It also gives me an opportunity to talk about the Summit with you. The Summit is a tilt-top reconfigurable table typically sold in 5'x5' sizes with a square or tapered base. The top tilts with the easy pull of a lever and then easily closes. With the top up, casters are extracted for mobility and easy reconfigurability. With the top down, the casters automatically retract to keep the table firmly in place.

It really is a remarkable design by one of our engineers, Chris Howe, that I got to try out over and over again at First LOOK. Lift. Lower. Lift again. Repeat 100 times. Designers were thrilled with the technology and also the look of the table as Summits really are attractive enough for the boardroom yet practical enough for a variety of uses from conference to dining to bridging between fixed tables.

We have made Summits for awhile now, but over the last year we have really perfected the design and our Summit production systems. And we're selling a lot (A LOT!) of Summits.

Should you ever wish to flex your arm muscles as I did at First LOOK, I invite you to visit the showroom to lift and lower the beautiful new Summit table there just as many times as you want. Roll it around, have fun.

While you're there we'd love your feedback on our new table designs, shown in white models and printed materials.

If New York is too far for you, we have lots of information on the Summit tables on our website, and I would be honored to send any interested designer materials on our new lines, which we hope to officially begin producing Oct. 1.

Ask me about them or the Summit. I always love to have conversations about our products.

Sincerely,

John Wall
