It's not every day that you get a letter of congratulations from a presidential hopeful, but that is just what happened last month.
U.S. Senator and recent presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) wrote to us congratulating us on an environmental award that we received.
In case you can't read the text in the image above, here is what Sen. Sanders (we're being formal ... we really call him Bernie) had to say to our CEO John Wall:
"I was please to learn that WallGoldfinger was awarded the Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. Congratulations to you and the entire WallGoldfinger team on this outstanding achievement.
This recognition is testament to you and your staff's commitment to environmental sustainability and waste reduction. I was pleased to learn that your waste diversion program has diverted more than 23,000 pounds of waste to be recycled by organizations such as ReSOURCE, Green Mountain Drums and the Vermont Woodworking School. I know that your work has had a significant and positive impact on your community, and indeed on the state of Vermont, and for that you have my sincere thanks.
I join with your friends, family and community in applauding you for your hard work, congratulating you on this well-deserved recognition, and wishing you the best in all future endeavors."
Thanks Bernie!
We've written about our waste diversion program and this award in the past, but, in case you missed it,
here is the article on the award and you can read more about the program
