We shared snippets of this table in a recent newsletter. A pencil stop here. A monitor well there. We even showed you our CEO John Wall crawling through a clever pass through in the base. But this time we're letting you see it all, and it's a beauty.
Designed by Stantec this gorgeous 17-foot wide by 22-foot long open center elliptical table features plain sliced walnut veneer and a 3-inch wide solid walnut reverse knife edge. The table has button microphones, a cable cubby for controlling those monitors and a solid walnut pencil stop on the interior top edge.
The matching plain sliced walnut veneer base has an interior elliptical wall with four embedded 48-inch monitors and a faceted exterior wall with doors to access the technology, including the monitors. The base even features - as John tried out - a pass through door so cleaning staff can vacuum the floor on the inside of the table.
The pass through door allows the table to maintain its continuous elliptical shape (as compared to a C- or U-shaped table) and prevents any disruption in the stunning tabletop. Perhaps an older solution compared to today's retractable tabletop monitors, the monitors in the well provide several important benefits. Again the tabletop remains pristine and with monitors in the wells those sitting at the table can see one another, resulting in more interactive and productive meetings.
This table received a lot of high praise for its design and craftsmanship in the factory and upon installation. A representative of the client generously called it the "talk of the town." "Everybody thinks it's elegant. The displays fit perfectly. ... an emphatic JOB WELL DONE!"
We share some images of the table in progress and complete in our factory here.
