How do they do it? The secrets behind shipping a large table.

WallGoldfinger builds a variety of corporate furniture. It's big boardroom tables for which we're best known, however. So how do we do it? How do we build a 50-foot table in our factory, ship it to a city, get it into a building (up elevators and through doorways) and into a boardroom. Shipping/Receiving Supervisor Adam Salls explains:

"WallGoldfinger's furniture is purposefully built in sections so it can be disassembled prior to shipping and then reassembled onsite. During the shipping process, these sections are carefully wrapped and secured in place to avoid damage. Once onsite, a professional crew is in charge of carefully unloading, moving and reassembling the furniture. We send instructions for assembly and sometimes our own experts, but the individuals and companies in charge of shipping and reassembly are also familiar with WallGoldfinger, our products and our and our clients' expectations."

We've included a CAD drawing of an approximately 33-foot by 27-foot elliptical table we included in last month's newsletter. See the section divisions? This table was fully assembled in the factory prior to shipping to ensure all parts went together perfectly, and then disassembled into 15 approximately 5-foot sections (17 if you count the center table) with the tops additionally separated from the bases. It was all then put together onsite. In fact, during the building, finish, reassembly and shipping processes, this table was likely put together and taken apart several times.

The photos included show examples of tops carefully secured on upright dollies and bases blanket-wrapped and secured.
