January 2016

Reflections on success

Each month when we send out our newsletter to you (which we hope you enjoy by the way), we take a quick look at what you read. Without fail, it's our good news that always seems to attract the most of you. You might notice that same trend on social media among your friends. We like a good marriage proposal or a beautiful picture of a happy family much more than the bad stuff that we're inundated with in the news. So I thought I would take a moment to write just a little bit about WallGoldfinger's successes.

It's true that like any manufacturer, we have had our struggles. We've told you a bit about them in the past. In 2011, our factory flooded and we moved to a new location. Before that the downturn in the economy was hard. And it wasn't so long ago that the news in this country was lost jobs, and lost innovation, as companies moved overseas. Through it all, WallGoldfinger has maintained and grown as a company. We've never looked afar for cheaper alternatives or compromised quality in anyway. We know what we are as a company and employer, and who our customers are. They expect the best, and we deliver.

2015 was no exception. As we shared in our 2015 Best of the Best, we had a great year of innovative work and a particularly strong latter half of the fiscal year. As we're sharing in this newsletter, we're looking at even more innovative work in 2016. We're also hiring and experiencing a very strong start to the year.

We attribute this success to a few factors:

  • Repeat customers, specifically an 80 percent rate of repeat customers in 2015 and 90 percent repeat specification from architects
  • There are many new towers rising, which means new offices needing corporate furniture.
  • Our reputation for quality. You might even say there's prestige in buying a WallGoldfinger piece of furniture. It didn't come from an assembly line. It's built in the U.S. by expert furniture makers driven to create the highest quality craftsmanship the industry offers.
  • A can-do attitude to successfully achieve customers' custom furniture goals, no matter now challenging or outside the norm. You might find another company that makes a reconfigurable table, for instance, but can it be built with stone? Want an engineering feat of gravity defying overhang? OK, we're on it.
  • Excellent vendors who help us achieve these goals
  • Knowledgeable representatives who provide that essential face-to-face with customers in their cities

With 2016 now upon us, I invite you to join us in the new year and let our successes become your successes.

Sincerely,

John Wall
CEO
