The WallGoldfinger family has grown to include a handful of new faces bringing unique expertise and training to our growing team.
Among WallGoldfinger's newest employees is industrial designer Michael Porzio of Massachusetts, who has joined us as a drafter/designer.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Michael previously held internships at Core Composites in Bristol, R.I., and NASA in Houston.
At Core Composites, he was a prototype drafter. At NASA, he designed and fabricated the toilet (wall-mounted, close quarters, gravity defying "waste management system") for the Orion Spacecraft along with other projects. Designed for deep space travel, Orion is expected to travel to Mars, with Michael's toilet on board.
A native of Lakeville, Mass., Michael is fulfilling a goal of living in Vermont.
"I always wanted to live in Vermont. That was my dream," he says.
WallGoldfinger's work creating large boardroom tables and other high-end corporate furniture is new to Michael, but not entirely so. "My father's a woodworker. On my mother's side there are a lot of woodworkers. It's always been part of my life," says Michael, who is now designing WallGoldfinger's furniture in SOLIDWORKS three dimensional computer aided design software, and loving it.
"Vermont's everything I always wanted it to be," he says. "The job is cool. I'm impressed with what WallGoldfinger does. I didn't think it was possible. There's so much ingenuity."
Other new faces to the team include Adam Salls, WallGoldfinger's new shipping/receiving and maintenance supervisor. A local husband and father, Adam previously oversaw maintenance at AADCO Medical Inc. for eight years, another Randolph manufacturer. He previously was a carpenter and worked in grounds maintenance.
Joining the busy woodworking team are Mike Bedor, John Gleason and Edward Shoennagel - all Vermont residents with varied career experiences.
Mike is a U.S. Army veteran who previously worked in woodworking and as a repair technician in a variety of industries including at a Harley-Davidson dealership. John has had a long career as a project manager and contract administrator for multiple industries from renewable power to construction firms. Edward is an experienced cabinet maker for multiple companies and has also worked in construction, plumbing and maintenance.
"We're fortunate to be busy in the office and the factory. These new faces are helping to meet our demand and add to the warm personalities that make up the WallGoldfinger family," says CEO John Wall.
