The "new" Arbor: An overlay edge, corner legs and even more compact storage

WallGoldfinger has been making Arbor multipurpose room reconfigurable tables for years. But if you think you know the Arbor, think again. The Arbor has some exciting new options.

Let us introduce you to the "new" Arbor.

If you're not familiar with the Arbor, in short Arbors have removable legs for incredibly compact storage and ganging. You can remove a set of legs when ganging for greatly improved leg room. (You gain inches of space for improved comfort and aesthetics.)

The "new" Arbor, if you will, offers even more compact storage. We've created a leg cart that can hold 42 of our traditional style legs, for example. The previous cart held 24 legs.

And as this project demonstrates, the Arbor has new options like a corner leg that is rapidly gaining in popularity and provides even greater leg room as well as a brand new overview edge.

Arbors are renowned in part for a popular edge option - an aluminum pan WallGoldfinger calls the Comfort Edge and that is rounded at the bottom to help prevent damage to chair arms. Materials, like veneer, are applied to lightweight cores that fit inside the pan frames.

The new overlay edge adds a hardwood lip that goes over the pan frame, eliminating any gaps between the edge and table top.

In this project for a financial services firm, rift cut white oak veneer was chosen for the tabletop surface and solid white oak for the overlay edge. The Comfort Edge aluminum pan edge is power-coated "Bengal silver" as were the corner legs.

The Arbors shown here are narrower than some at a custom 24 inches wide and were purchased in both 60- and 72-inch lengths. They were sold with modesty panels and carts (not shown).

As the pictures illustrate, ganging the 2-inch square legs gains a couple inches of leg room by removing a set of legs. With the corner legs, the ganged legs are also rotated 45 degrees.

These Arbors are now meeting this company's multipurpose room needs in both Boston and New York.

As a side note, Arbors are still available with WallGoldfinger's traditional, slightly inset leg and are sold without the Comfort pan frame in a three-ply or solid wood edge, for example. Tilting and folding T-base options are also available. Learn lots more about the Arbor online at www.wallgoldfinger.com/Arbor.

Photos from top: These custom Arbors are shown assembled; a close-up photo shows how the hardwood edge overlays the Comfort Edge aluminum pan frame; tables are shown side by side and then ganged (one set of legs joining two tables); again tables are shown close-up side by side and then ganged; and tables are shown onsite
