Walnut, brushed stainless steel boardroom, conference tables fill New York company's complete meeting needs
A New York communications company recently welcomed four custom tables from WallGoldfinger, including one table that comes apart for storage.
The furniture package included a 24-person boat-shaped table, a 20-person boat-shaped table, a 16-person square conference table and a small boat-shaped table that seats 10.
The largest boat table, shown at the top of the page, featured plain sliced walnut veneer, solid walnut, brushed stainless steel, Corian solid surfacing in "glacier white" and a solid base with a metal kick plate. The table also included Shure MX395 Microflex Low Profile Boundary microphones and stainless steel hatch lids above power/data boxes with four simplex power outlets and four cutouts for additional data options added onsite.
The other three tables eliminate the Corian and feature plain sliced walnut veneer, solid walnut and brushed stainless steel.
The square conference table and small boat table feature a solid base, metal kick plates and microphones. Both are done in plain sliced walnut veneer done in a reverse box pattern.ญญ
The 20-foot boat table is built a little differently. It has veneer laid in a radial bookmatched pattern and four small bases with metal kick plates supporting the table. Hatch lids and power/data boxes were included, but not microphones.
The base of this table is different from the others because the table is actually built in four sections that lock together with swell latches. Unlock the swell latches, place the four table sections on carts and wheel them away to open up the room. In this case the company placed the 24-person boat and 20-person boat table in the same conference space with a room divider. It wanted to be able to remove the smaller table and open up the room divider for larger gatherings.
The tables, all with a reverse knife edge, were skillfully designed by HOK.
