Vermont Quarries Corp., Danby, Vt.
Vermont Quarries Corp. is home to Vermont Danby Marble - thought to be the most prestigious white marble produced in North American and featured on some of the nation's most architecturally significant buildings as well as WallGoldfinger products. Located just 60 miles from WallGoldfinger, the quarry itself is the largest underground marble quarry in the world and is accessed through the same opening that was created more than 100 years ago. Long Trail Brewery, Bridgewater Center, Vt.
One of Vermont's many breweries, Long Trail microbrewery is home to Long Trail Ale (the largest selling craft brew in Vermont), the Pollenator, Double Bag, Tom O'Brien's Stout, the Hibernator, Blackbeary Wheat and Harvest Ale. Located on Route 4 near Killington ski resort, the brewery is also home to a visitors' center with a great, casual restaurant, a catwalk over the actual brewery and, of course, beer. You can even hike a portion Long Trail (the oldest long distance trail in the United States) while you're there. We recommend that you take your hike before you have the beer, however. Learn more.
