Golden Boys by Sonya Hartnett Here's a perfect summer book for teens who are into realistic fiction and are ready for something a bit more sophisticated (the novel was released as an adult title in Australia where it was originally published).
Quite a tense read, Golden Boys is about new kids on the block whose father is ever eager to flaunt their wealth, using a freshly installed pool and new toys to attract the neighborhood kids... But why? I love how it captures the freewheeling unmediated life of teens and preteens in the 70s, danger included.

After Hours
Rahul Kanakia Book Launch @Central Saturday, August 6 6:30-7:30pm Join Rahul Kanakia to celebrate the release of Enter Title Here. In order to score a book deal, an unscrupulous overachiever has to turn herself into a quirky, light-hearted YA novel protagonist. Note: it's pretty far.
