Summer reading is a family affair. Kids read, parents read, and if there's a baby in the family, somebody reads to the baby. Dogs like to hear books, too. Sign up for Read to Win online and download and print your game card! We start officially on June17and ends September 4, 2016, but go ahead now and start playing! The foggy days of a Berkeley summer are just around the corner. The cure-all is to eat a piece of Elisa Kleven's Sun Bread and dream about Nina Crews' One Hot Summer Day, and find a book that becomes a companion for a while. How do you find that book? Come browse the shelves. Explore. Ask a Librarian. Will it be the intense page-turning How To Catch A Bogle by Catherine Jinks, or how Nicholas searches for buried heirlooms in If You Find This, by Matthew Baker? Perhaps a great family read-aloud like Katrina Nannestad's When Mischief Came to Town, set on an island in Denmark in 1911 where an energetic girl joins her grandmother for the summer. No foggy doldrums at the library! It's summer! We offer dazzling programs, and a range of reading and listening material, so make a library visit part of your weekly summer plans. See you there!
