The Berkeley Public Library went live with a one Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) broadband Internet connection on Friday, October 23, 2015! Alicia Abramson, the Library's Manager of Information Technology says, "The Library recently conducted surveys of the Berkeley community and Library staff. In both surveys, the number one priority of those who responded was to increase the Library's Internet connection speed." Read more.

Tool Lending Library Open 40 hours/week!

Effective November 6, the Tool Lending Library (TLL) will open at 10:00am on Fridays*. These extra three hours bring TLL up to 40 hours, and with the exception of Mondays (when TLL will remain closed), their hours parallel those of the library branches. As fall clean-ups gain momentum in preparation for a rainy winter, we look forward to serving our patrons better with more hours on Fridays! The Tool Lending Library schedule is: - Monday: Closed
