Summer is winding down and school starts soon. There is still time for everyone to participate in #bplsummer reading. It's easy - sign up, read, listen to audiobooks, visit the library - that all counts on your Game Card! The last day to pick up a prize or take part in the raffle is September 7, 2015.

Betty Reid Soskin visits the library to recall Richmond and an African-American woman's  home front experiences during World War II. She was employed in the segregated Boilermakers Union A-36 in Richmond during World War II.

See a short movie of Richmond during the years 1942-1945, and the this exceptional speaker and home front hero will share her stories. Betty is currently the oldest working National Park ranger and works at the  Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Park in Richmond. Her talk will move you. Third floor Community Meeting Room.

6:00pm-7:30pm
Marilyn Tullius leads a FREE Resume Workshop and provides expert advice. Marilyn holds an M.S. in Business Administration-Marketing from the Anderson School at UCLA and works with clients to prepare resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles. Please bring copies of your resume for review.Third floor Community Meeting Room.
BOLT: South Library Signage Sub-Committee

The Board of Library Trustee (BOLT) is looking for three (3) community members to work on the Library Signage Sub-committee to decide on the new sign for the South Branch/Tarea Hall Pittman Library.

 

The Library Signage Sub-Committee will be made up of Trustee Darryl Moore, Trustee Jim Novosel, Library Director Jeff Scott, Neighborhood & Childrens Services Manager Sarah Dentan and three (3) Community members to be selected after application.

 

Interested community members must submit an application by September 1, 2015.
