#bplsummer = Summer Reading for All!
You may have joined the Berkeley Public Library's Summer Reading Program before, but this year we're making it easier, more flexible, and more fun than ever!

Being a part of it couldn't be easier. Sign up here and download your game card, or pick one up from any of our library locations. Once you've done that, just start reading, streaming, browsing and visiting your local library. Every time you do, put an X on your game board. 30 X-es and you are a WINNER!

We have great prizes for you to claim every step of the way, and EVERY TIME you finish a game board you will get entered into a grand prize raffle! Enter again and again and again and again...

That's not all, though. Post photos of yourself, your friends, and your family reading this summer on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #bplsummer. We'll feature our favorites on our website!

And remember: this year's Summer Reading Game is all-ages, so get your siblings, your friends, and everyone else you know in on the action!

The Source for Your New Favorite Book

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO READ THIS SUMMER?! Check out our all new expanded booklists!

Do you love the hair-raising thrill of curling up with a spooky book? Maybe you're more interested in the profound truths to be found in realistic fiction.

We're happy to announce a new feature on our website to help match you with your next favorite book. To  prepare you for non-required reading season, we here at Berkeley Public Library Teen Services, have prepared 15 different booklists for your enjoyment.

A booklist is a collection of titles that share a common feature. The feature could be the genre (for instance, 'Love Stories') or the format (like 'graphic novels'). We make booklists to help you find a book that's the right fit! We also use them to highlight books we think are REALLY good.

When you find a title that interests you on the list, you can click it to go directly to the book's page in our online catalog. From there, you can see if it's available. You can even put it on hold and let us know where you'd like to pick it up when it's ready and we'll deliver it to whichever library location you choose!

BPL's team of Teen Librarians chooses different types of books that we are particularly fond of and list our favorites. We even include little teasers about the plots to give you a better idea of what the book has in store for you.

Our lists include classics, new releases, quick reads, and epic tomes, all written by authors from a diverse spectrum of backgrounds. Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it here.

Using a booklist to help you find a book to read is like having a chat with a librarian who is into the same stuff as you!

If you find something on a booklist you really love, come in to the library and tell us so. We LOVE talking shop with you and would be more than happy to direct you to similar titles we think you'd like. Let our book lists be your gateway to a summer of reading.
