Currently at North Branch, I have been serving the teens of the Claremont and South Branch for the last six years. I'm excited to get to know a new neighborhood!

Hi everyone! My name is Nikki Donna Santiago and I am the Teen Librarian over at Claremont Branch! I  recently moved here from Brooklyn because that's how much I wanted to hang out with you guys.

I have been a fan of young adult books since before I was a teenager. I enjoy listening to audio books like Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars while washing dishes or walking my fat dog.

Jack just got back from the San Diego Comic-Con, the biggest convention in the world for all things geeky. While he was there, he interviewed a bunch of incredible comics creators like Kazu Kibuishi, Lucy Knisley, and Paul Pope for his podcast, In the Library With a Comic Book!

I Hunt Killers

In the book I Hunt Killers we meet young Jasper Dent, a teenage boy. Nothing is normal for Jasper (or Jazz, as he calls himself).  

 

His father, Billy Dent, is one of the most notorious serial killers America has ever met. Billy Dent did not want the fame for himself - he wanted it for his son. He drilled into Jasper how to kill, when to do it, and who to kill.

 

Jasper is struggling to overcome his father's brainwashing drills. This book kept me on the edge of my seat until it finished. And the killer was not who I thought it was!

Even though summer is winding down, we will keep on gaming at all the library branches every week!  

Come by and challenge your friends to a game on our Nintendo Wii, a board or card game... let us know what you want to play!
