BERKELEY PUBLIC LIBRARY CHILDREN'S NEWSLETTER
July 2014

Paws to Read our Summer Reading Game is very popular with lots of sign-ups. This is the first year that we opened up the Reading Game to ages from 0-13 years old. Reading is fun for all. Finish all your reading by August 16 and collect a prize!

Summer Reading Continues
It is important to keep your children reading all summer long so that they don't lose this valuable skill. You can never start to young. Even pediatricians are recommending reading at a very early age.

Free sign-ups for Paws to Read Summer Reading Game started and the game continues through August 16. You can play the game any one of these ways:
  • Read ten books, or
  • Read for ten hours, or
  • Read 1000 pages.

Visit the Library at least three times and collect three library visit stamps on your reading log. Your child choose a prize when he/she completes the game. Finished the game? Keep reading!

The 2014 Summer Reading Game is sponsored by The Friends of the Berkeley Public Library  and other community sponsors, including Fenton's CreameryBay Area Discovery MuseumPegasus BooksAlbany Bowl, the Ecology Center, and the San Francisco Bay Ferry.
