Nothing compares to sharing experiences

Father Son walkIt's true; material things can bring happiness. But scientific research confirms sharing experiences can strengthen communities, promote harmony and understanding among culturally diverse groups, help seniors and people with disabilities feel supported. Shared recreational experiences also strengthen families, eliciting feelings of loyalty, trust, harmony, teamwork, and goodwill. Read on to learn about some of opportunities for shared experiences offered by Eugene Recreation this winter and spring.

Make a memento of time together
Family Clay At Family Fun with Clay, family members of all ages will share the experience of creating items such as clay bowls, mugs, monsters, and more, that will bring back memories of the day you created them! Classes are 4-5:30 on Wednesdays, Jan. 22-Feb. 26 or Apr. 9-May 14 at Amazon Center.
Create a memory that lasts a lifetime

Park WalkFirst Saturday Park Walks are free, drop-in, and for all ages. Round up the family or friends and walk through a different park each month from 9-11 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month. A naturalist will interpret the walk, explaining the ecology and management of the natural space.

Oh! The stories you'll tell!
Snowshoe Day
Experience the snow with family (age 8 and up) or friends this winter. On Family Snowshoe Day, Jan. 20 or Feb. 17, instructors will coach you on snowshoeing. Or, grab a friend and sign up for Cross Country Skiing Level I, Beginning Touring. Instructors will help you plan a day trip and teach the skills you need for competent X-country skiing.
The ultimate shared experience!
