Membership Committee Chair
We had a great turnout for the April 10th networking dinner/membership meeting which was held at MJ Stevens. I would like to say a special "thank you" to the Wells Fargo representatives who provided a very informative presentation on financing.     In addition, I would like to welcome the newest members to the WCBA: Productive Builders - contact Rodney Kilian at (262) 251-2355 and Wells Fargo - contact Lee Ann Neumann at (414) 405-5384.   Spring is here so it's time to start thinking ahead to the upcoming Tour of Homes. |

 | Scholarship Fund
Dirk Wildt and I had the pleasure of meeting Lucas Breuer, one of the WCBA scholarship recipients from the Fall 2013/Spring 2014 school year.   We toured the Moraine Park Technical College - Construction Trades "Hands On" area located at the West Bend campus. While there, we gained more insight into the MPTC Building Trades Program Lucas will be completing this spring. It was very exciting listening to all of the different type of trade opportunities Lucas was able to be exposed to. MPTC works closely with the Habitat for Humanity House located in the West Bend area. It was also exciting to see how your membership dollars are helping the local community in so many different ways.   In addition, it was very refreshing to be able to see such a positive response toward the WCBA scholarship and the help we are able to provide to our local students.    Coming soon!!! Watch your local Washington County newspapers for the WCBA Scholarship Fund article helping to promote the Washington County Builders Association and the Scholarship Fund. What an excellent way to give back to the community! |

Once again your Association will be hosting an evening at the Slinger Speedway in the VIP section of the grandstands.  A separate and enclosed area above the grandstand in an enclosed private setting for only the Association members and their guests.   All those who came last year enjoyed the event which included a private tour of the pits, pace car rides, a chance to wave the starting flag for the feature race, fireworks, all your food and adult beverages plus an entry ticket for only $40 per person.  Tickets will be limited to 40 entrants and will go on sale at the next general meeting which is being held at The Copper Dock on June 12th.                I am just going to tickle your interest with this next announcement of a grand event to be held at a location to be determined benefiting our scholarship fund and Habitat For Humanity. Very preliminary information to tell you at this point but I wanted to make sure we get the word out early.  Proposed date will be early September and the event will be a themed party (Prohibition?) with craft distillers, craft beer and wine vendors.      This is going to be a fun night and included in the cost of your entry ticket you will be able to sample all the liquors, beer, wine, appetizers, and listen to live music. If you have dressed for the event, you may possibly even win some money to boot.   As I mentioned, this is in its planning stages and if anyone would like to join a committee and help with the planning please give me a call.  We do need your help and whatever time you could spare would be greatly appreciated. More to come about the event at the next general meeting and in futures newsletters.     See you at the meeting! |
