VFW Call To Action, by David Spooner
As a member of the WCBA board of directors and as a retired army veteran, the West Bend VFW Post 1393 located on Sand Drive in West Bend contacted me to request help in rebuilding their front entry porch leading into the main building.
It will need to be ADA compliant. They will need help with design, excavation, carpentry, lumber, windows, siding, electrical and metal roofing.
I am asking any members who are interested in donating materials and/or labor to answer this call to action as did all the Veterans that utilize that building have for us. For what they have given without question we all owe it to them.
If interested, please call me directly at 262-366-0990. Thanks!

42nd Annual Tour of Homes 2012 by Matt McCabe The 2012 Washington County Tour of Homes was held during the second week of July and the results are in: Success! All the home builders who put their models on display gave positive feedback regarding the quantity and - and the quality - of this year's visitors. Several measurable factors from the 2012 TOH continue to support the trends that suggest an improving housing market. Even though the number of participating builders was down, the overall number of visitors was slightly up from last year's event. Definitely positive indicators that the home building industry is starting to see a rebound! In addition to the numbers, reports from builders and visitors alike indicate that a good time was had by all. The official drawing for the Bingo Card was held Thursday morning and the announced live on the radio station WBKV 1420am much to the delight of the winners. Many thanks go out to all who participated in and attended the 2012 Washington County Builders Association Tour of Homes. We look forward to another successful event in 2013. |
