Riverside.io Rings in the New Year With a 24 Hour Hackathon  

 

Riverside.io, the coworking space located on Main Street in downtown Riverside hosted a New Year's Eve Hackathon as a unique way to ring in the new year. 

Hackathons are events that bring people together to engage in collaborative computer programming. Scott Motte, the organizer of the event described the fun in the hackathon saying, "hackathons are exciting events and mixed with champagne made all the more exciting. Champagne, Redbull, and code." 

 

The hackathon was 24 hours and was held from 6 p.m. December 31st to 6 p.m January 1st with 11 hackers in attendance. The agenda for the evening included an introduction about Riverside.io and then the programmers went straight into hacking. (Read more...) 

SBA Accepting Nominations for Small Business Week Awards

The U.S. Small Business Administration is now accepting nominations for the 2014 National Small Business Week Awards. 

 

The SBA honors small business owners and entrepreneurs for their outstanding achievements through various awards including:

  • Small Business Person of the Year Awards
  • Small Business Exporter of the Year
  • 8(a) Graduate of the Year Award
  • Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation Award
  • Veterans Business Outreach Center Excellence in Service Award
  • Women's Business Center of Excellence Award

A & H Rents is a family owned rental company located at 10241 Hole Avenue in the La Sierra neighborhood. The family opened the business in response to the lack of available rental services in Riverside. A & H Rents provides rental equipment for all occasions including weddings, graduations, parties, fundraisers, memorial services and corporate events.
