Startup Weekend Riverside Kicks Off on Friday, May 3rd!

On May 3, 2013 creative minds will flock to Riverside's first Startup Weekend to take advantage of the training, synergy and mentoring that occurs in just over two days, providing an incredible opportunity for local entrepreneurs and inventors. Attendees can come as teams or individuals, but they must bring with them an idea or product in the research or concept phase.

Startup Weekend is a global program that brings 54-hour events to select cities where "developers, coders, designers marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and create startups."  Most events have about 75 attendees, half of which have technical backgrounds while the other half have business backgrounds.  In 2012 alone, Startup Weekend had 512 events in over 380 cities representing over 100,000 attendees with many of them leaving and starting their own companies. (Read more...)
