Riverside County World Trade & Investment Summit Scheduled for June 6
Last week the Riverside County Office of Foreign Trade announced they will be hosting the World Trade & Investment Summit on Thursday, June 6. The event will provide the business community the chance to explore exporting opportunities around the globe, and teach them how to access those markets and locate buyers seeking to buy products made in the USA.
In addition to a VIP line-up of international, federal, and state officials, attendees will also hear from successful exporters, meet and discuss export financing and underwriting with a team of bankers and underwriters, and learn about the hottest markets around the globe for products manufactured or grown here in Riverside County. Guests can find out more about the benefits of being in the Foreign Trade Zone, such as tax and tariff eliminations or reductions. Riverside Welcomes New Economic Development Marketing Manager
Riverside City Manager Scott Barber is excited to welcome Collette Hanna to the Office of Economic Development as the City's new Marketing Manager.
"Collette brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our economic development team," stated Assistant City Manager Deanna Lorson. "Her passion for marketing combined with her experience in economic development made her our top candidate to be leading the effort of telling Riverside's story to the world."
Ms. Hanna has worked in marketing for over 15 years - eight of those in economic development marketing. (Read more...)

Riverside Resident & Business Owner Finds Fame in Making Monsters

Riverside resident Eric Fox has turned a hobby of monster making into a full-fledged business and has become a local celebrity in the process.
Fox was recently seen on the show "Face Off" and has just opened a special effects studio in Riverside.
The SyFy reality show has contestants compete to create creatures and figures using prosthetics and makeup. The show is judged by experts in the Hollywood makeup field including Oscar winner Ve Niell ("Mrs. Doubtfire") and Glenn Hetrick ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"). ( Read more...)
