Riverside Selected as the Finish Line Location for the 2013 FIREBALL RUN
Riverside has been selected as the Official Finish Line for the 2013 FIREBALL RUN Adventurally and its Race to Recover America's Missing Children.
FIREBALL RUN is the 'Most Epic Adventurally in America®' - a gripping and emotional eight day, 2500 mile, life-sized trivia game, where America serves as the game board. Forty driving teams compete for glory, bragging rights and a plastic road sign, all the while aiding in a massive effort to recover America's missing children. "FIREBALL RUN is less about itself than it is about the unique places we adventure to, and the inspiring people we meet along the way." said the Executive Producer J. Sanchez. (Read more...) |

On April 27, 2013 TEDxUCR will be using a new salon format that will bring together 100 people and four speakers to actively discuss "Invisible Influences: What are the hidden forces that shape our lives, our community and our world?".
"The mission of TED is to create connections between people and ideas, and with this salon event, we took that literally," said organizer Elliott Kruse, co-president of TEDxUCR and a graduate student in the University of California, Riverside's psychology department. "We wanted to explore all the things going on in the world that you don't see, but are affecting you and changing you."
The Salon event is open to the public and will be at The Barn from 5:45 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 27. Seating is limited to 100 people and the last TEDxUCR event sold out, so Kruse recommends buying tickets in advance.
TEDxUCR is supported by grants from UCR's Associated Students Programs Board, the Department of Psychology and the Office of Research and Economic Development. (Read more...)
