Small Business Development Center Opens Office in Riverside

The Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has recently opened an office at 3780 Market Street.

"The Small Business Development Center is a tremendous resource for local small business owners and entrepreneurs," explained City of Riverside Economic Development Manager Larry Vaupel. "While the SBDC serves a larger region within Inland Southern California, having an office located in Downtown Riverside makes accessing the many services and trainings they offer much easier for our companies." (Read more...)
Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour Comes Back to Riverside
(Includes excerpts from the 1/31/13 Press-Enterprise article by Laurie Lucas)

At 8,700 square feet, the new Riverside Farrell's restaurant is the fifth and largest in the growing chain since investors resurrected the brand after a lengthy legal battle. Bob Farrell and Ken McCarty founded and launched Farrell's on Friday, Sept. 13, 1963, in Portland, Ore.

Parlour Enterprises CEO Mike Fleming said that of all the locations, Riverside was the best and easiest city to work with. "They welcomed us with open arms for bringing 170 jobs," he said. "They made the process so easy." (Read more...)

New Aviation Program at California Baptist University Receives Its Working Lab

FedEx Express has donated a Boeing 727-200F to California Baptist University for use by its new aviation science program. The cargo jet made its final taxi on January 10, 2013 after landing at the Riverside Municipal Airport. The aircraft will be on permanent display at the airport and will provide a working laboratory for aviation science students.

"Although this aircraft has reached the end of its useful life in commercial service after 33 years, it is beginning a new life here at the Riverside Municipal Airport as a working lab for CBU aviation science students," said Dr. Daniel Prather, founding chair of the CBU aviation science department. "CBU could not be more pleased with this generous donation from FedEx and appreciates the role of Women in Aviation International in making it possible." (Read more...)
