Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center Receives Top Rating by The Leapfrog Group

The Leapfrog Group's annual list of Top Hospitals was announced Dec. 4 in Baltimore, Md. and included for the second time, Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center in Riverside.


Both Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley Community Hospital received an "A" rating. The announcement came at Leapfrog's Annual Meeting, focusing on transparency as the key to improved hospital safety, and Top Hospital Awards.


"This distinction for Riverside Medical Center and Moreno Valley Community Hospital is recognition of the dedication of our physicians and staff who work tirelessly every day to provide the best health care possible to our members and the communities we serve. We are very proud of this distinction," said Vita Willett, executive director, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/Health Plan. (Read more...)

Innovation Economy Expo Teams Up With International Commercialization Alliance

Innovation Economy Expo recently announced a collaborative partnership with the International Commercial Alliance (ICA), a consortium of commercialization stakeholders representing members in 18 countries.   


ICA is hosting the Innovation Pavilion at the expo taking place on May 9, 2013 at the Ontario Convention Center in Southern California. Serving as a global stage for innovative technologies, products and services, the Innovation Pavilion will exhibit and spotlight innovative technologies, products and services from around the world that are moving through or stepping into the commercialization process. 


Innovation Economy Expo is a global community of business stakeholders coming together to create high-growth business opportunities by exchanging knowledge and ideas, creating projects, building teams and sharing international commercialization resources. (Read more...)

Small Business Tax Incentives in the Fiscal Cliff Deal  

By Karen Mills, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The SBA helps both Main Street and high-growth small businesses get access to capital, counseling, federal contracts, disaster assistance and more.  The following was published on on January 5, 2013:

The Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 passed earlier this month included extensions of several small businesses tax incentives designed to spur innovation, support capital investment, and make it easier to hire new workers.   In fact, the legislation extended some of the most important tax credits that the President signed into law during his first term.  In addition, under this law, more than 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses will not see their income taxes go up, avoiding a negative impact on small business revenues.


The following is a list of the key tax incentive extensions your business could be using today. Whether you've made R&D or equipment investments or hired veteran employees, you stand to benefit from one or more of the extended tax incentives.  What's more, small businesses looking for investors can benefit from the 100 percent exclusion of gain on small business stock. (Read more...)
