Patti was born and bred right here in Calgary, growing up in this beautiful city alongside 3 sisters.  She attended the University of Calgary where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Geology and a minor in Geophysics.  Upon finishing her degree she decided to travel around the world by herself.  This was her one-year away to go and explore.

 

As part of her travels she travelled through Europe for 6 months and then decided to go to Japan.  She ended up living in Japan for 1.5 years where she ended up becoming an assistant trader of steel for BHP Trading Asia.  It was an exciting time living in Japan but there was something calling her back...   A couple of months before the Nikkei index went through its major crash, Patti returned home.

 

Instead of using her education in Geology or Geophysics, Patti made the decision to get involved in the financial markets becoming an investment advisor at ScotiaMcLeod Inc.  During her time there she completed her CFA designation and loved working with her many clients.  

 

After 20 years at ScotiaMcLeod she made the decision that she wanted to stay home with her young children and her wild puppy dog.  She is really enjoying her time at home with her family and looks forward to lots of opportunities down the road.

Join Nikola at Sustainable Style YYC on Wednesday, April 15.    Nikola was asked to participate in this event because I believe in Natural Fibre Clothing, Clothing that lasts and is beautiful and stylish for many years.  I also strongly believe in supporting Women, Artists and local designers.  I'm also a fan of well done upcycled clothing.  Will have some of Ruby and Lolo's Fabulous Upcycled designs for sale at this event as well as some other local creations.
