Tom Phelan Speaks at White House Briefing on TRIA

President and CEO Tom Phelan recently attended a White House briefing and expressed the need for congressional reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) and its importance to the stability of the economy and the workers' compensation insurance industry.

In addition to representing Chesapeake Employers, Tom also represented members of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds (AASCIF), of which he is President.

In his comments at the briefing, Tom said that a federal government backstop, in the case of a terrorist attack, was essential to the country's workers, businesses and job growth.

 Dear Agent Partner,

Welcome to the winter issue of Producer Line

As the new leader of the Marketing and Business Development department of Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company, I am spending a lot of time on the road visiting our agency partners and getting better acquainted with principals, agents, brokers and CSRs.

These visits allow me to learn what's important to you. For instance, many agents I have visited tell me they are very excited about Chesapeake Employers earning an A.M. Best financial strength rating of A- (Excellent).

I look forward to continuing to work with you and to strengthen Chesapeake Employers' agency distribution channel.

Please feel free to contact me or your Territorial Account Executive with any ideas, issues or concerns. On behalf of Chesapeake Employers, I thank you for your business and continued support.

Best regards,

Sharon Rowell

Assistant Vice President
