The Injured Workers' Insurance Fund, IWIF, will become Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company (Chesapeake Employers), effective October 1, 2013. Chesapeake Employers will be a private, nonprofit, non-stock corporation that will continue to provide workers' compensation insurance only to Maryland businesses.
For our policyholders and agents, this transition will be seamless. This is a critical step in the evolution of the company. It strengthens our ability to achieve our mission and maintain our position as the largest writer of workers' compensation insurance in Maryland.
