NCPass enjoys growth, nears 1 Million Signal Mark
NCPass is the Weigh Station Pre-Clearance program offered by the state of North Carolina and is available to any motor carrier that has a Satisfactory Safety Rating and a history of good road side inspections. With the current enrollment pace and signal activity, the program should achieve 1 million total signals issued by the end of 2012. The program began testing in early 2008 and began marketing late that same year meaning only 4 years to reach the million signal mark. Carriers that have a good compliance history are receiving frequent bypasses. Since the beginning of the program, NCPass customers have received over 750,000 green light bypasses saving the Motor Carrier Industry over $3,000,000. The average bypass rate is 78% system wide for participating carriers. Bypass rates can be as high as 90% for the highest rated carriers.
Enrollment requires a signed service agreement, payment of fees, submission of carrier and vehicle information, including photos of the trucks enrolled. North Carolina uses these photos for identification purposes which can save drivers time if they are required to enter a weight station. Any trucking company can apply to enroll in the program and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol will authorize trucks to participate based on their credentials and compliance history.
For a limited time, NCPass is enrolling trucking companies that have a BESTPASS Fusion transponder for only $2.75/month for the first year. BESTPASS can add this to your monthly bill and manage your enrollment for you. After that, the monthly fee is typically $5. There may be special offers at that time based on the number of trucks the company is enrolling and length of time the company elects to be part of the program.

LEASE/RENTAL VEHICLES ON YOUR ACCOUNT!
Did you know by simply adding your leased and rented vehicle plates to your BESTPASS account you will reduce the number of paper toll-violations received from vehicle leasing/rental companies. Of course we understand your concern... if you fail to remove the plate after you return the vehicle, then you would be responsible for tolls incurred by another company that is charged against the plate on your BESTPASS account, forcing you to seek reimbursement from your leasing/rental company.
Well I guess you haven't heard the news... with BESTPASS you can add vehicles to your account with predefined end dates. Simply inform us if you return the vehicle early or extend the terms of your vehicle agreement. You will no longer have to remember to remove the plate from your account. BESTPASS will automatically remove the plate from your account and notify all the tolling agencies. Simply remember to provide the end date when adding your vehicle to your account and you are all set!
Just one more way we are striving to be the BESTPASS!

TX Toll Road Speed Limit Increase | |
The road with the nation's fastest speed limit - 85 mph - opened October 24, 2012, a 41-mile stretch of a new toll road in Texas.
The Texas Transportation Commission approved the speed limit in August for the portion of State Highway 130 between Mustang Ridge south of Austin and Sequin, east of San Antonio.
American Trucking Associations urged Texas to reverse its decision allowing the high speed limit, citing safety concerns.
The toll road is intended to help alleviate the increasingly crowded Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Tolls will begin to be collected November 11th.
Cars and personal trucks will pay $6.17 for the full stretch, while an 18-wheeler with a transponder will pay more than $24, Houston television station KHOU reported on its website. |
