News from Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos High School
On Tuesday, October 16th, sixteen students were awarded with a trip to see the Chicago Bulls in action at the "Madhouse on Madison", also known as the United Center. These sixteen students make up one "PANA" class (Peers Advising for New Achievements) - some schools call these classes "advisories" or "homerooms". Each month we have a school-wide goal for which "PANA" groups strive to attain. Our school's September challenge was in the area of "Attendance". With an attendance rate of 87% for the month of September, Brenda Torres-Figueroa's "PANA" group was at the top of the pack and were awarded with this delightful trip.

Monsturbation Ball a Smash!
On Saturday October 27, 2012, Brujeria Production held its first annual Monsturbation Ball to support Vida/SIDA in its fundraising effortfor the Chicago AIDS Foundation Walk Run. Performers, community members and even a Birthday party lighted the night. Witches and demons danced and enjoyed an evening of great fun and activities. A special thanks to Daisy Rannochio who donated her time and material to
decorate the location. Special acknowledgment to Jackie Diaz and Ada Rivera who worked hours to make this event happen. We hope to see you
next year for this new Halloween tradition.
