Planning for 2015's growing season and CSA Garden Shares has been exciting. :-)
Over 200 different kinds of organic seeds ordered! We are also drawing up plans for a better barn to wash, pack and store our veggies in. (We've been in the basement of an old dairy barn and it's just too tight in there.)
Brand-new members will receive my favorite all-time CSA cookbook, From Asparagus to Zucchini, for free!
(Returning members all received an email with access to $15 worth of savings!)

Thinking About Joining, But Not Sure? Here's what just a few people say about our farm:
"I am a last minute cook who usually lacks inspiration and often never made it past preparing the "main dish" to prepare vegetables as well. And I certainly didn't know how to use vegetables as or in the main dish. I knew this had to change so I decided to "trick" myself by paying for a crop share, knowing that it would force me to use a whole box of vegetables every week and also to learn how to use something other than romaine lettuce, tomatoes and frozen peas.
It has worked beautifully. What was first frightening
has become a pleasant challenge. I'm happy to say I know I can not only recognize many new vegetables, but I can also cook them up, mostly in ways that make my family want more.
What I've enjoyed about Providence Farm is that they are kind to the vegetable novice, like myself. They send out beautiful pictures so you know what you will be getting, and in my case, so you can figure out what is in your box... full of beautiful but unfamiliar vegetables. They provide you with preparation ideas and recipe links.
The variety of food you receive is very impressive. They also do a good job of balancing out what goes in your box each week so you're left hoping to see a vegetable again soon instead of hoping to never see that vegetable ever again. Lastly, what's in the that box every week is a lot of food. It keeps my family of 7 well fed for the whole week." ~ Melanie Boerman

"It's has been such a treat to get organic, delicious veggies and fruit from Providence Farm each week. You know you are putting the healthiest food possible into your body and it makes all the difference in taste, too! I have also tried the ground beef and it's great. I'm grateful for this hard-working, wonderful family and for their high quality food!" ~ Linda Blair
"What a huge blessing the Lord the bestowed on you all to bless the lives of others. Thank you for what you do and thank you for keeping your focus on the One whom all Praise and Glory is due. God Bless you and your loved ones and thank you for a wonderful harvest." Blessings, Melissa Clark

 | Ryan found this amazing fossil in our field. It's unusually large and most likely a Nautiloid Cephalopod called Orthoceras from the time when Michigan was under a salt-water sea. |
Our Thanks for reading what's going on here at Providence Organic Farm. We are a small family farm that relies 100% on local people like you. We really can't express our gratitude enough. THANK YOU. We especially thank all our winter and spring registrations from CSA members and the friends who make it a point to come to our farm markets in all kinds of cold and unpleasant weather. Even if a CSA share isn't for you, please pass the idea along to any person you may think would be interested as our CSA is the back bone of our farm. ~ God Bless! Ryan & Andrea
