Sweating for a GREAT cause - Team Mt Laurel!

During a special Sunday morning workout, over 50 people came out to support Team Mt. Laurel and workout for a great cause. In May, Team Mt. Laurel will ride 300 miles to D.C. in honor of their fellow brothers and sister who have lost their lives in the line of duty.  Along with the workout registration fee, tee shirt sales and private donations, we collected $1,400!

New to Our Newsletter
We decided to change it up a bit with this edition of our newsletter and provide YOU with some great content from our EXPERTS at Evolution Fitness.  Owners, Brian and Danielle Kane, have both written articles along with our in-house Holistic Nutritionist Vito Lasprugato and Fitness Coach, Maureen Kane.  We hope you enjoy the new changes and we look forward to bringing you more knowledge in our next edition!

Happy Spring!
Spring has sprung as we start to see the green explosion occur among the trees and all the plant life around us.  With beautiful, bright sunny days, we start to feel free again after being caged in all winter!  Earth Day is Friday, April 22nd this year and Evolution Fitness is going to partake in planting a tree.  In just five years, Earth Day will be celebrating its 50th anniversary and the organization has a goal to plant 7.8 billion trees.  So, will you join us?  We'll be purchasing our tree from Laurel Oak Gardening Center, a fellow member of the Marlton Business Association. 
 
Why trees?  They absorb excess and harmful CO2 from our atmosphere. In fact, in a single year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the same amount of CO2 produced by driving the average car 26,000 miles.  Let's join in to make a significant and measurable impact to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet for all.

We chose Change is Now as our tag line for a specific reason, because we reserve the right to change our minds!  Our world is changing on a second by second basis.  Every day we learn more about the human body; exercise, nutrition, and medicine (just to name a few). Each day we find better, more effective or less detrimental ways of achieving the same if not better results leading to growth and transformation for our society.  If we do not change now, the way we think, move and make better choices, we will stunt our optimal potential.

Our most popular challenge has returned for 2016.  Each year we run a team NewYear NewYou Body Transformation Challenge to start the year off strong! Teams compete to see who can have the highest percent change of body fat lost in six weeks.  We have found that having a team behind you helps support and motivate you to reach your goals! Our challengers commit to following a specific nutrition and fitness plan that gets RESULTS!

Recipe: Refried Beans Tostadas

Serves 4 appetizers or 2 entrees
 
Ingredients:
2 tbsp coconut oil or Grass Fed Raw Butter
1/2 large onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
2 Cups Soaked Dried Black Beans 
1/4 cup water
