Join Mayor Riley on a walk this Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Garden within Raymond Rimkus Park.

City-Wide Street Sweeping Schedule January 12th - 15th

In an effort to reduce water and air pollution, and as part of the City's Stormwater Management Program, street sweeping is conducted four times a year. Weather permitting; the next scheduled street sweeping will be January 12th - 15th. Listed here is the four day schedule. In order to help the sweepers go through smoothly, we ask that you please move items and vehicles from the street on your street sweeping day. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact the Public Works Department at 681-1232.  

 

City Offices will be Closed
City Offices will be closed January 19, 2015 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Offices will reopen January 20, 2015 at 7:30 a.m.. All public safety and fire personnel will be working and providing emergency services as usual.

Home Rule Charter Commission Is Near the End

The Commission has met ten times since their appointment.  They have approved a table of contents for the home rule charter which consists of the following eight articles:

  1. Form of Government and Powers
  2. Boundaries
  3. The City Council and Mayor
  4. Elections
  5. Administrative Organization
  6. Initiative, Referendum and Recall
  7. General Provisions
  8. Transitional Provisions

The Commission has since approved Articles I - VIII. The Articles are being placed in final form and will be sent to you all in the near future.
