 All city offices will be closed Monday, February 17, 2014 in observance of President's Day.    All public safety and fire personnel will be working and providing emergency services as usual.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held
Thank you to all who joined us for this memorable event.

City leaders broke ground Tuesday on a new expansion project which will feature new facilities for the City of Leon Valley.

Construction officially began Tuesday morning on a new fire station in the 6300 block of El Verde. The new station is scheduled for completion in December.  Once the new fire station is complete, the department's former facility will be converted into a new police station. Then a final renovation project will result in new municipal offices for city employees. All the projects should be completed by January of 2016.

 


 

The event was also the inaugural event for our Fire Department's newly formed Honor Guard. The Mission of our Honor Guard - "To provide the City of Leon Valley Texas Fire Department and its Firefighters, with a dedicated group of individuals who support the history, traditions and values associated with the Fire Service, and who reflect a positive and professional image of Leon Valley Texas Firefighters."

Pet's Barn Adoption Day
 

In coordination with Animal Care Services, Pet's Barn will host a pet adoption day on Saturday, March 8, 2014.  The event will be held at the Pet's Barn Leon Valley location at 6939 Bandera Road from noon to 4:00 p.m.

 

Pet's Barn is one of Leon Valley's newest businesses.  They offer a variety of pet supplies and products; but in particular, they're known for Activa Dog Food.  The special for the pet adoption event is "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" of the Activa Dog Food.
