Leon Valley Firefighters Helping Raise Money for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

 

 

Leon Valley Firefighters are preparing to climb the Tower of Americas on February 1st to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

 

Different than the 9-11 memorial tower climb in September, this is a competitive RACE against other Firefighters and therefore a chip-timed event.

 

The challenge: Wearing full firefighter gear, weighing approximately 65 lbs, climb 65 flights of stairs to the TOP of the Tower of Americas.

 

Several of our Firefighters have been training for months, along the way.....improving their fitness, and staying focused on a goal to help their team and others.

Leon Valley has 13 Firefighters racing, which represents the 2nd largest team at the event (besides San Antonio).

 

This event works to improve; Community Service, Teamwork, Fitness, Pride, Courage, and so much more...
