Starting Monday, October 21st, Early Voting for the Constitutional and Special Leon Valley Election begins.

Take a friend and go vote at the Leon Valley Conference Center.
 
Information is available at the Leon Valley Library, City Hall, and on our website.

What's on the Ballot?  

Besides having the Constitutional Amendments to consider, there will be two ballot measures for registered voters living in the City of Leon Valley to consider. Information on each can be found by clicking on the links below:

What Form of ID is required?    

  • Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing your photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing your photograph
  • United States passport

Upcoming Public Meetings


City Council Meetings
Beginning with the October 14th meeting, City Council will meet monthly, on the second Monday of the month beginning at 7:00 p.m., for a 6 month trial period.

Ceremonial items and work sessions, which may include an Executive Session, will be scheduled prior to the regular business meeting time of 7:00 P.M., as needed. The agenda will indicate a time certain of 6:30 p.m. for ceremonial items.

Coffee with the Mayor and Council
Council established a monthly public gathering to encourage more dialogue with residents of Leon Valley. The first meeting was held September 21st and received favorable review by those in attendance. Don't miss your next opportunity to have a cup of coffee with your City Council, on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9-11, tentatively scheduled at the Kinman House.

Leon Valley Economic Development Corporation
The next meeting of the LVEDC will be held Wednesday, October 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.

Your Opinion Matters!

The LVEDC is seeking input from the business community on the proposed LVEDC Façade and Signage Program DRAFT guidelines.  This program is designed to provide local businesses with an opportunity to fund some of the needed improvements to their buildings or storefronts or signage to help attract customers.

The LVEDC will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, November 13, at 6 p.m. at City Hall to receive comment from Leon Valley business owners and managers.

On October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Leon Valley Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its seventh opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft, along with providing a safe disposal method, by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your medications for disposal to the Leon Valley Police Department at 6400 El Verde. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
