Greetings!

Last evening's City Council Meetings saw a number of business matters conducted, including the canvass of the May 11, 2013 General Election for City Council Place Nos. 1, 3, and 5.

Following the Canvass, the Mayor and City Council honored Councilwoman Kathy Hill and Councilwoman Irene Baldridge for their years of service.

City Council Members recently elected received their Certificates of Election and Oaths of Office.  Then, Councilman Ricardo Ruiz, Councilman Abraham Diaz, and Councilman Paul Biever took their seats at the dais to begin their respective terms of office.

There was a capacity crowd at a short reception honoring all the Council Members in Places 1, 3, and 5, immediately following the Canvass Meeting.

We hope you will observe and enjoy a safe Memorial Day Weekend.  City Hall is closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

There is an opportunity to get your membership to the City's swimming pool located at 6600 Strawflower this weekend at a special event.  See the attached flyer for more information.

The Leon Valley Historical Society is hosting an Ice Cream Social this Sunday, May 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
All are cordially welcome and invited!

As always, we invite you to Connect with Us... to obtain the most current City of Leon Valley news and information from the City's website.
